FEARLESS...

While i was on my daily routine of preparing for work it was always my habit to turn on our television thats why sometimes i tend to be more SLOW in readying myself. This episode from the TYRA BANKS show catched my attention. Fearless...am i fearless?

Arianna Huffington defined what it means to be an accomplished woman. A Greek immigrant, Arianna is well known as a columnist, radio show host, author of eleven books, activist, gubernatorial candidate and co-founder of www.thehuffingtonpost.com (a site to which George Clooney frequently blogs). She was lauded for her success when Time magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World (a list that also included Ms. Tyra Banks). When Arianna walked out on stage in fitted jeans and sleeveless black top she could have easily fooled us into thinking she was a chic Hollywood actress rather than co-host of a radio show called Left, Right and Center. Despite the long list of achievements, Arianna had to battle her share of fear. Although she was interested in politics and world issues, she worried about being labeled as aggressive by her male peers. But she was most certainly over her fear when she threw her hat into the ring for governor of California and debated with Arnold Schwarzenegger who once publicly suggested she switch to decaf. Would he have said that to another man?

Tyra asked Arianna the big question, “What makes you fearless?” Arianna explained that her fearless demeanor came from following her goals even when she is fearful. Also, she didn’t worry about failure because perseverance allowed her to continue and try again. Arianna most certainly exercised perseverance when her second book was rejected by no fewer than 36 publishers! Now, promoting her eleventh book, On Becoming Fearless in Love, Work and Life, Arianna shared her strategies for overcoming obstacles in every facet of life. She gave some tips from the book such as how to ditch what she calls the “obnoxious roommate.” This “roommate” is the negative voice that lives inside our heads and tells us we are not good enough, smart enough or anything enough. She suggested you “evict her” because if you listen to her, she will destroy you. (credits to tyra banks show.com)

There was a part of the show that Arianna said why do we always see ourselves as the unluckiest person in the world? Why do we always end to compare ourselves to rich and famous people...its already given that when you compare yourselves to them you will tend to belittle yourself...why not try comparing yourselves to people who suffer, people who are pained and hungry? With this way you will tend to look life with a new perspective. It will be over and over that we alsays say we are so lucky...but this is life we need to fight life challenges and we need to look on the brighter side of life to be able to conquer life's battle. Erase the negative thoughts...live life tot being happy is not a destiny its a choice... and maybe by that time you can now be called FEARLESS.
